Going into Regionals our on-site team had hopes to make it into the top 15 as a rookie team, this is their story.

The first of my three talks at the TTT Open Camp was a fired up plea with our athletes to ensure they did not try to put me or my ideas on a pedestal as the organization continued to grow and gain more notoriety.

At one point, I was the guy who believed that enough reading, enough experience, enough social proof, enough money, and enough physical prowess would be proof that someone had the answers.

It took many years to realize that those 'answers' don't exist and that many of the 'gurus' put on pedestals were just flawed regular people sitting behind a curtain, just like in the famous story "The Wizard of Oz."

00:25 - How do you split the sessions for a competitive athlete and how much that change in the competitive season?

22:10 - How do you count the volume (weekly / month etc ...) of a strength training, but with a metcon for the energy system that has weights, at the end of the cycle do you count this volume together? (i.e. WB in metcon, do you count UB push 50x, same as bench press?)
How do you deal with this volume coming from Metcon? I ask because it ends up finding a very large variable, which can interfere with your strength training or energy system, as well as many others. (if possible details rsrsrs)

2nd - How much volume do you decide to start? 70% of test results, how much does it increase from week-week? (I know it depends on the athlete but ..)

The third and last of my three talks at the TTT Open Camp concludes my take on "Oz" and the current fitness market.

People come to "Oz" to learn about breathing, training, exercising fast, being strong, and various other physical disciplines. But I've found that sometimes there are more important lessons for life that drive physical performance in sport and I wanted to try my hand at sharing those concepts of community, brotherhood, and connection.

00:22 - INJURY: Which injuries come back most in individual or group programming that you see the most and why?

04:13 - For me and many others, I train by myself (individual programming) and sometimes it gets damn hard to keep pushing through a competitors style program with no one there pushing you. What would be a couple things for "solo trainers" to keep in mind to get the same stimulus as a training partner or just having more people around to help push through?

07:49 - As a coach, each programmed workout has an intended stimulus and an intended goal or result as a training tool. Much emphasis has been placed recently on mentality in the sport of CrossFit. Do you and the TTT coaches specify the goals of each training piece for your athletes to better grasp their mentality? Or is the mental game elucidated in a different way?

14:09 - Why does following a strength programming cycle inhibit fat loss, if nutrition is set for fat loss macros?

19:08 - We kind of had this conversation at the South Regional but I'd be interested in Max's ideal format for Regionals going forward - best way to get the 'best' athletes at the games in the fairest manner? (I.e. Eliminating the debate that there are in fact weaker regions meaning we don't have a true representation of the top 40 at the games)

If your season (or your client's season) ended after the conclusion of the Open these are the things you'll want to take care of during the off-season. At 17:05 meant to say failure not success.
